Why Do You Love Me So?

I'm sitting here, Lord, with head bowed low,
Wondering why you have loved me so,
I make mistakes, I run aground,
But you're always there, You can be found;

Your tender love, comes through loud and clear,
You're in my corner, so very near,
How can you love me, this question I ask,
If it were me, it would be a big task;

Lord, someday soon, your face I'll see,
Oh what a happy day that will be,
I'll see my loved ones who have gone on before,
Who are already there on that distant shore;

I long to see you, please don't tarry too long,
As things get worse here, we could lose our song,
For looking at the trouble this world affords,
Your church is ready, Lord, all in one accord;

So as I sign off, Lord, my love for you abounds,
In anticipation I wait for that trumpet to sound,
I want to be ready, my life to be pure,
And ever be watchful, and to always endure.
